Join us in offering the Maronite Qurbono (Offering, the Eucharist liturgy) for the repose of the faithful departed, celebrated by Fr. Michael Shami. The Syriac Maronite Church is one of the 24 Churches in full communion with the Pope of Rome that comprise the Catholic Church. Each of these 24 Churches- the largest of which is the Latin Church, which mostly uses the Roman Rite- has its own liturgy. The ancient Maronite liturgy originates from Antioch, where St. Peter was first bishop, and the core prayers are attributed to St. James the Apostle. The Maronite liturgical language is a dialect of Aramaic, the language of Jesus.
