After the Easter season, starting with Trinity Sunday, up to Christ the King Sunday, right before Advent, we will be singing the Salve Regina at the end of Mass. It is traditionally sung at Night Prayer (Compline) of the liturgy of the hours, and it so happens that the Salve Regina is the same as the Hail, Holy Queen which we say at the end of the Rosary! Consider at your next family rosary singing the Salve Regina in place of saying the Hail, Holy Queen! We will be learning and singing the “simple tone” Salve Regina, but I also recommend listening to the “solemn tone” setting which is quite beautiful! Praying these antiphons is a great way to foster devotion to our Blessed Mother, and to take hold of our faith and pass it on.
